Mark-Hendrik de Vries (partner) has practiced law since 2000 and joined Davids Advocaten in 2010.
Mark-Hendrik has spent the past 17 years specialising in the practice areas of litigation, restructuring and insolvency. He supports clients in (banking) disputes involving attachments, foreclosures, termination of (group) financing, and enforcement of security rights, suretyship and other forms of liability. His litigation practice is extensive, covering a wide range of disputes in the field of corporate law. He has a depth of experience in representing directors and companies in financial difficulties, more specifically in defending their interests against liability claims instigated by court-appointed Bankruptcy Trustee and creditors.
In those specific financial situations he also advises other stakeholders, such as shareholders, employees, financiers, suppliers and customers. He guides companies through the pre-insolvency phase, suspension of payments, and rescue plans and relaunches. Here he has the clear advantage of being able to call upon his many years’ experience in the role of Bankruptcy Trustee, having been formally appointed in more than one hundred insolvency cases. Mark-Hendrik is now regularly appointed to act as bankruptcy trustee by the Court.
Mark-Hendrik previously worked for (Trenité) Van Doorne, and for AKD Lawyers and Civil-law Notaries in Amsterdam. He has succesfully completed the Grotius postgraduate specialisation programmes in Insolvency Law (INSOLAD) and is member of INSOLAD and Insol International, the national and international associations for specialist insolvency lawyers. He is also member of the Dutch Association for Corporate Litigation and the Dutch Association for Procedural Law.
